Fourth Annual Cassoulet Cook Off To Benefit Greenmarket's Hurricane Farm Relief

It’ll be another amazing face-off between amateur and professional chefs when we host our Fourth Annual Cassoulet Cook Off on January 8th from 1-4 p.m. Whether you’re eating ($20 ticket at the door) or cooking, this is a chance to partake of some great casserole-style fixings!

Would-be participants need to:

  • Source their cassoulet with local/greenmarket ingredients
  • Provide 200 x 2 oz portions, with their own serving and heating equipment (Jimmy’s No. 43 will provide plates)
  • Compete for some great people’s choice and judges’ awards such as assortments from Anolon Nouvelle Cookware and Wüsthof Knives!

Guest judges thus far include Cassoulet Cook Off 2011 winner Andrew Gottlieb; writer Cathy Erway (Not Eating Out in NY); and Matt Timms (Chilitakedown.com).

Jimmy’s No. 43 Cassoulet Cookoff was established to support local farmers, highlight farmers who make their own sausage, and encourage cooks to locally source their ingredients. All proceeds will benefit the Greenmarket’s Hurricane Farm Relief. Would-be chefs should e-mail Danielle to sign up.
